German cockroaches are maintained without food for 24 hours and then presented with the test bait and commercial dog food. After two hours, the amount of both the bait and the dog food eaten by the roaches is measured. The roaches are then monitored for mortality each day. The tests are conducted on both normal and ‘bait averse’ colonies of German cockroaches. As can be seen from the results, both the normal and ‘bait averse’ roaches preferred the bait over the dog food by a large margin and rapid mortality was seen with both groups of roaches.
